Plank Challenge - Day 31 - FIN -
Time: 3:36
I tried so hard to get to 4 mins but it was impossible. I thought I was going to throw up, but it was a valiant effort regardless.
I think that in February I will try to do a variation on the plank challenge.
The side plank challenge! Let’s go!
That worked out well. Not a HUGE difference, but I’m happy with it. More so than the looks of my abs, they feel so much...

Finally - the sun comes out
I ran 5.5kms around my hood today. The sun is shining and it is a beautiful day. Parts of the sidewalk were slushy and icy, this took a lot of attention and focus but it was fine. I noticed that running over snow feels like running through sand - makes your legs tired pretty quick.
Anyway - back into training in a big way. Let the games begin!

Bikram Yoga
I went to yoga with two of my pals who have never tried Bikram before. I had a pretty good class, a little on the tough side, but it was fine.
I felt the heat, did I ever! The teacher suggested some corrections for me that I have never tried before and they really made a difference.
My pals did great. For a first class - they killed it.
Plank Challenge - Day 27
Time: 3:06 - Oh Fuuuuuuuuuuck!
My goal was to reach 4mins by the end of the month…there are a few days left. Is it possible? Maybe not, but I will certainly try to get close to it.
Core, Shoulders, Lower Back, Arms: are BURNING.
Plank Challenge - Day 26
Time: 2:20
It was tough today, but I still think I can bang out 3mins by the end of the week. Perhaps tomorrow will be the day?? We’ll see.
Getting back on track
It has recently dawned on me that by big 30k race is inching closer by the day. It is March 27th - that is very soon! I haven’t been running a lot lately due to: stress, weather, sinuses…etc. But last night I realized that I need to get my ass in gear if this race is going to go well.
I ran 5kms at the gym this morning. It went well, although I hate running on the treadmill. As soon...

Plank Challenge - Day 24
Time: 2:46 - Oh Shiiiiiiiiit.
My goal is to break 3mins this week. Let’s do this thang!
Plank Challenge - Day 22
Time: 2:35 BAM!
Everything after 1:30 was purely mental. I had to talk myself into holding the plank one second at a time. I can definitely feel some soreness in my abs after that.

Jeans - the redemption
I posted a month ago how I had a horrible time shopping for jeans. Basically I have a pretty classic hourglass figure - a very small waist and very wide hips. I am very happy with the curves except when it comes to shopping for pants. Jeans in particular are hard.
I took another stab at it today and I thought I would try high end jeans to see if they were cut differently. Were they ever! This...

Blahhh
This week my workouts have consisted of a few lackluster plank challenges and a 2km run earlier this week. WEAK.
I feel like I’m getting sick, and it’s awful. I feel very sinusy and congested and can’t imagine working out at all.
Instead I have started a full retaliation against any cold virus that is trying to take over. We are talking tea, water, vitamins, emergen-c, honey,...
Planks-- Day 1
- - Woo plank challenge! We are going to rock Summer 2011 with our abs of steel!
iatemondays:
I was sitting in bed, watching Biggest Loser, when i was like: hey why don’t i start that Plank Challenge thing?
1/20/11= 64 seconds.
I might have been able to hold out a little longer but I thought I’d take it slow since I need to beat that time tomorrow…
Plank Challenge - Day 20
Time: 1:50 - I think I’m getting a cold. Boo. This was the best I could do today.
I’m at an ordinary - or perhaps more like mediocre - level. But that’s not the...

Back in the saddle
I have not done any running since December 26th (the Boxing Day 10mile race). After that race I developed a really sore arch in my right foot. I bought new running shoes immediately and planned to run as soon as my foot felt better.
The sore arch combined with a shitty last 2 weeks of December kept me from running. I started a new job in the new year and my schedule needs some adjustments to get...

Plank Challenge - Day 17
Time: 1:40. I worked late today, just got home (11pm) and thought “hmm..any plank is better than no plank…” So, that’s what I managed 1:40, not great, but better than nothing.
losingitall asked: Hi, I just wanted to tell you that I think your Plank Challenge time of over 2minutes is AMAZING, thats some core strength you must have!
Plank Challenge - Day 16
Time: 2:10. Not great..but this weekend had a lot of eating and drinking and as a consequence I’m not feeling too fit now.
